‘New’ Material from The Exploding Hearts released this Halloween

I remember picking up “Guitar Romantic” by The Exploding Hearts when I was a junior in high school after reading some reviews about how they sounded like a mix of some of my favorite bands: The Boys, The Undertones, The Buzzcocks, The Heartbreakers, etc. That CD lived up to all of the hype surrounding the band and later I became even more excited about seeing them live. Unfortunately, I never got that chance and I never will because three members of the band tragically passed away in a car accident in the summer of 2003. When I heard about it I was crushed. Since then I have been going on Soulseek searching for an inkling of what this promising band could have been if all of them were still around.
Thankfully, Dirtnap is finally releasing those rarities that I have been searching for and its out this Halloween. The compilation is titled “Shattered”and the cover art for it is posted above. Along with demos, alternative tracks, and unreleased material, the CD will come with a 20 page booklet as a tribute to the late members.
The only surviving member of The Exploding Hearts, Terry Six, is now fronting the band The Nice Boys. www.myspace.com/niceboys
