World/Inferno Friendship Society, Paint It Black | Europa, Brooklyn, NY | 4-7-07

The night started off with a bang. Well, more like with a chill, as I stood outside of Europa in the cold for maybe an hour, waiting for the doors to open. On Saturday, Memphis’ proudest export Lucero played a triumphant set at Brooklyn’s The Hook. Operation Ivy’s Classic To Be Reissued

Rejoice Op. Ivy fans! Reports are surfacing that the legendary East Bay ska-punk band’s classic Energy will be remastered and reissued through Rancid Records. The record, which was originally released through Lookout! has been out of print for almost two years.

The news stems from an ad that will appear in the newest issue of Punk Rock Confidential, promoting the album’s release. No word just yet if the album will be repackaged

Since there is no video footage of when Jesse Michaels hopped on stage with Rancid to perform “Unity,” you’ll just have to deal with a strictly Rancid take on it. Check it out below.
