The Descendents’ Karl Alvarez Needs Your Help

Punknews.org is reporting that the incredibly awesome Karl Alvarez of Descendents/ALL/Lemonheads fame has suffered a minor heart attack. While he is apparently in stable condition, he is racking up a large amount of medical bills, since “punk rock doesn’t have a benefit plan.”
His family and friends have set up a donation page for those who would like to help out someone who has given us so much awesome music over the past years.

More information including how to donate can be found here.

Despite having played a set only a mere couple of hours before at McCarren Pool, Jona Betchtolt (AKA Yacht and former member of the Blow), brought his awkward glitchy pop to the ever-so-popular Sound Fix Records. His live show many not change all that much, but his unbridled enthusiasm for his music and constant audience interaction (like the always present Q&A session, which turn sour when questions regarding the Blow come up) certainly make it a show worth seeing more than once.
