Band Spotlight | Fest VI Edition: Off With Their Heads

It’s October and you know what that means, the Fest will be here in here no time. Leading up to the weekend of the 26th, we will have a new spotlight every Wednesday showcasing a non-headlining act that we think you need to check out down in Gainesville. For the first installment of Band Spotlight: Fest Edition, we focus on the Midwest’s drunken-troublemakers known as Off With Their Heads. These boys have been pounding out slurry, sloppy, angsty pop punk for a few years now.
One thing I remember about last year’s Fest was that everyone was talking about these guys. I trust pretty much any band that comes out of Minnesota so I didn’t hesitate when people told me to check them out. And god damn, what a band. Pissed off tales of hatin’ your job, your routines, your vices and sometimes, your life. How can you not relate?! But hey, it’s catchy so get into it. So let’s go over this: A) They are from Minnesota B) They love Dillinger Four, Toys That Kill, The Methadones just as much as you do C) They’ve released some fucking incredible 7-inchs with the likes of Blotto, Tiltwheel, and J Church D) and over the last few years they have created some of the most rousing pop punk anthems in the damn country. Call it cliche but Off With Their Heads could be your new favorite band.
The band just released All Things Move Towards Their End, a collection of their various splits and compilation contributions, on No Idea. They will also be releasing splits with Dear Landlord and The Measure [SA] in the very near future. You can check out all that goodness here.
Meanwhile, the band is touring around the country on the way down to Gainesville. Check the dates out and some tunes out here and buy a shirt. Also, check out the short but amazing video for “Idiot” below.
