MTV News is reporting that Mos Def,  Brooklyn’s second favorite mc is signing to Downtown Records.   Mighty Mos is just another artist in a long line that have jumped from the major labels.  Downtown is home to Gnarls Barkley, Eagles of Death Metal, and Art Brut. Mos Def recently just finished up a remix with  Spank Rock on Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.,” but no word yet on when that will be released.

Maybe we will finally get that Mos Def/Art Brut collabration we have all been waiting for.
