CMJ DAY 3 PHOTOS: Thursday DVD Screening

So I may be a bit biased about the band Thursday, since I considered them to be the band that got me into music. When I first heard Full Collapse back in 8th or 9th grade, it blew my freakin’ mind. People can scream while playing music? Some guy with absolutely no singing ability can be the frontman? All this was an incredible revelation to my young, virgin ears at the time.
I’ve remained a fan, despite the ups and downs that Thursday has been through, so when I heard that their would be screening of their new DVD, “Kill The House Lights,” out on October 30th, I jumped at the chance to go. The DVD features interviews with band members and friends, encompassing everything about the group’s career. Fantastic live footage was intercut throughout the program and featured footage from their first set in a New Brunswick, NJ basement to their annual holiday shows at the Starland Ballroom is featured, all with stunning video and audio quality. We didn’t get to see the full performance portion of the DVD, but I’m sure it was fantastic. The DVD comes packed with a CD featuring a new song and b-sides/unreleased tracks, making it a must buy item for any Thursday fan.
