Fucked Up, Xiu Xiu Leading The Charge Against Rolling Stone

In the ongoing and very bizarre case of Rolling Stone Magazine’s questionable allowance of Camel Cigarette’s advertisement, Toronto’s finest (and Late Night Wallflower favorites) Fucked Up, alongside experimental indie darlings Xiu Xiu are actually filing suit against Rolling Stone and Camel. They are making a case against the advertisement itself and the magazine’s actions running it, knowing it contained unauthorized usage of band’s names.

According to Punknews.org, they’re going for “an admission [in Rolling Stone] that the artists’ names were used without consent in a spread equal in size to the original ad, as well as seeking actual and punitive financial damages. (Under California law, this could conceptually amount to $750 per issue of Rolling Stone, per band, or a whopping $195.3 billion)”.

$195.3 billion? Holy shit.

What do they sound like?: Neurosis having a love-child with Explosions In The Sky.
