Nothing Nice To Say…The Book!
Mitch Clem, the brain behind the long-running and always-funny punk rock webcomic Nothing Nice To Say has announced some big news regarding the comic on his blog.
A compilation book is going to be released via Dark Horse Comics! That’s right, the dudes who’ve brought you titles like the newest rash of Conan The Barbarian and the Star Wars comics. Pretty awesome, right?
Anyway, click below for his official statement on it, some specifics, and the totallly fucking killer cover art.
The contracts are signed, everything’s in motion, the wait is nearly OVER! Ladies and gentlemen, as of today, you can now officially expect the long-awaited Nothing Nice to Say book to hit stores around September! The book will be published by none other than indie comic juggernauts Dark Horse Comics (a bit of info I have been keeping secret for so long now it’s starting to hurt when I walk).
To answer some anticipated questions:
1) Yes, I still own the comics and the characters and everything. NN2S is not owned by Dark Horse, they’re just kind enough to put out the book.
2) If all goes according to plan (and I see no reason why it shouldn’t), the book should be available in record stores as well as comic shops and, of course, online on Amazon and stuff.
3) The book will contain just about every NN2S strip from 2005-2006, as well as about fifty pages of bonus comics including my month-long stint writing and illustrating Joe and Monkey at the end of 2004, a good dozen or so guest strips, some original art, and more.
4) Yes, the comics from the book will still be available to read online for free always and forever.
So hooray! Three cheers for Dark Horse for being badass and putting my book out! This is an exciting time for me, guys. This is the kind of thing you go out and celebrate at a fancy steak restaurant. Which I would totally do if I weren’t still hopelessly poor. So frozen pizza’s gonna have to do for now. Which, let’s be fair, is just as good.
