Video: The Loved Ones - “The Bridge”

One of our our faves The Loved Ones have a new video out for their song “The Bridge,” off of their latest full-length Build & Burn, on Fat Wreck Chords. Check out Dave Hause looking a little like Jim Brewer and the rest of the band engaging in similarly surreal and hilarious hijinks.

The Binary Code Sign To Midgets With Machetes

New Jersey metalheads and buds of Late Night Wallflower, The Binary Code, have signed with Tennessee’s Midgets With Machetes/Uprising Records. They have not only become a label-backed band, but they’ve also introduced me to the label with the weirdest name on the planet.  The band plan on hitting the road soon with labelmates Cast Pattern, and releasing new material in the spring of 2009.

Check out their upcoming gigs after the jump.

The Coaster Corner: Weezer - “Red Album”

Words can not properly describe how bad the new Weezer record is. But I’m sure you already know this. Why do we keep getting tricked by a band who hasn’t released a great album in twelve years? It seems as though Rivers spends more time growing a mustache then writing lyrics these days. Somebody needs to break his heart so he can write some good tunes again. But seriously, I think he’s completely given up on writing. A sample of his recent “poetry:” “Act 2, I hit the big time. And bodies be all up on my behind. And I can’t help myself because I was born to shine. And if you don’t like it, you can shove it. But you don’t like it, you love it.”

We will shove it, Rivers. Shove these piece of crap record you keep unleashing in a landfill! Yeah, take that. We give up! That is, until you release another record and we are tricked, yet again, into checking it out.
