Torche On Tour With Pelican, Coliseum, Clouds

Torche are about to set fire to the planet as they tour the U.S., Europe and Japan with a ton of great bands including Pelican, Coliseum and Clouds. Unfortunately for us, there is no New York date.

The limited edition Meanderthal vinyl is a beautiful picture disc with die-cut gatefold artwork. I highly suggest picking it up, and perhaps we will post some photos soon. Go pick up a copy at Generation Records regardless.

Check out the dates after the jump.

F Yeah Fest Promoters Beat Up By Security At Radiohead Concert

Sean Carlson and Phil Hoelting, masterminds behind The F Yeah Fest, were beaten up by security during  Radiohead’s Hollywood Bowl show in L.A. on Monday night.

L.A. Weekly had this to say:
“Monday night along the tree-lined walkway entrance to the Hollywood Bowl, as Radiohead was closing the second of their two sold-out nights at the venue, Sean Carlson and Phil Hoelting, promoters of this weekend’s annual F Yeah Fest, were handing out flyers to exiting fans. Their friend Michael Reich, creator of the popular music video site Videothing.com, was recording the two for an upcoming documentary. As Reich shot, he noticed a scuffle occurring within his frame; in the background four security guards could be seen restraining a crowd member as they were ejecting him. The guards, employees of CSC Security, the company contracted by the Bowl to provide protection, were being overly rough with him, alleges Carlson. “They’re strangling him – brutally. He’s gasping for air.” Reich turned his camera directly on the action as the CSC guards continued to restrain the man.”

The Faint, Jaguar Love | The Trocadero, Philly | 8/17/08

The Faint got Philadelphia so sexually-pent up last Sunday night at the Trocadero. I think it might have been an full-out orgy.

As several contributors to this site can attest to, if there’s a dance party to be had within a 30 mile radius of Philly, chances are I’m there. Hence when The Faint announced a tour with the new Blood Brothers/Pretty Girls Make Graves hybrid outfit Jaguar Love, tickets were in my hand almost immediately. The Faint proved that they are hands down the best live electro rock band in existence today, if not the best ever. It was legendary.
