All Points West: Jersey City 101

The first annual All Points West music festival goes down this weekend in Jersey City’s Liberty State Park. Here are some tips on food spots and parking situations for all of you making the trek to the festival.

First off, parking. Parking is nearly impossible in the area without a permit. Don’t ruin your weekend by getting a ticket or a boot. There are a ton of garages in the area; mostly on Grove St. and near the Pavonia/Newport area. It will probably cost about $20 a day to park.

Food! There are so many amazing food spots in Jersey City. Grove St., which is right near the light rail, is your destination for some of the best food in the area. If you want some authenthic mexican food, I highly recommend Taqueria Downtown on Grove and Grand Street. Seriously, this is the BEST mexican food I’ve had in the NYC/NJ area. Get the pork tacos!

If you are looking for more upscale fare, check out Marco and Pepe’s. A little more expensive but the food is delicious. The Beechwood Cafe across the street has an awesome weekend brunch menu. Get the french toast if you go. They’ve got great coffee too.

Tons of cheapie spots too. Ibby’s Falafel is freakin’ amazing and dirt cheap.  A1 Deli is open 24/7, just in case you get stuck in that huge line while leaving the park.

Enjoy the festival and have fun!
