More sad news in the punk world today as the awesome 538 Johnson Avenue in Brooklyn, NY will stop doing shows, starting immediately. This sucks because:
a) Fucked Up were supposed to play there this weekend
b) This place ruled.Ian Dickson, a punk and hardcore promoter in the NJ/NYC area had this to say, “Ok well this sucks, but when you are doing shows in a place you rent, it is bound to happen. It was a good run but for now 538 Johnson will not be hosting any more shows, including firday [sic].I am trying to find a new place for the FUCKED UP show on FRIDAY. I am pretty confident that i will find a place. i’m not sure if the show will be all ages but i am doing my best. ”

Long Island hardcore veterans Kill Your Idols played their second to last show ever on Saturday night at 538 Johnson Ave in Brooklyn. 300 people packed into the insanely hot loft to say goodbye to a band that has meant so much to so many people.

After an incredible 12 year run, the band reached the finish line with their last show on Sunday in Long Island (which apparently the police shut down before it was moved to a different location).
