Band Spotlight: 65daysofstatic
I got hooked onto 65daysofstatic right after listening to the first track of their last album (“Drove Through Ghosts to Get Here”), One Time For All Time. The band is a perfect blend of electronics and epic instrumental music in the vein of Mogwai. The only bummer about the band is that their records are ridiculously hard to find in the U.S. (and I’m hesitant to blow 40 bucks on importing them).
The band have a new album coming out soon though, courtesy of Monotreme Records called The Destruction of Small Ideas. It’s already looking out to be one of my most anticipated releases of this year.
It’s a shame that although they seem to be a tight band live, they’re only playing one date in America at SXSW. If any of you guys are able to catch them there, enjoy!
