Young Hearts’ “The Fight” EP Available Online

Brooklyn-based pop punks Young Hearts have put their The Fight EP online for free.  The band is one of the best up-and-coming bands from the NYC scene. Simply put, they tear shit up! I could probably listen to “Backs To It” on repeat for hours, if not days. They’re on tour starting May 17th, so if the circus of awesomeness that is YH hits your town, definitely check them out. You won’t regret it. You can download the EP right here, and check their Myspace page for tour dates.

Also, since the band includes members of Dear Tonight, don’t forget the last DT show ever, which will go down on June 14th at Lost & Found in Brooklyn.

Chuck Ragan Announces New Album “Bristle Ridge”

As we reported a few days ago, Chuck Ragan recently recorded a new album with Austin Lucas. Now, Chuck has posted an update on his myspace with details about the new jams.

The album will be called Bristle Ridge, and will feature “3 Chuck Ragan originals, 3 Austin Lucas originals, 3 Ragan/Lucas originals, 1 original by Bob Lucas, and 2 old time standards called Darling Corey and Distant Land To Roam.” No word on when it will be released just yet.

Cat Power Reveals Tracklist for “Jukebox”

Cat Power has finally revealed the tracklist and art work for her second covers collection entitled Jukebox. According to Matador Records, the record will be released January 22nd and will also feature two of Cat Power’s own songs “Metal Heart,” and “Song for Bobby. ” Yes, that Bobby being Bob Dylan.

Jukebox follows Cat Power’s 2000 collection cleverly titled The Covers Album. Some of the new covers include CCR’s “Forunate Son,” Bob Dylan’s “I Believe in You,” and James Brown’s “Lost Someone.”

Wu-Tang Announces Release Date for “8 Diagrams”

 

Provin’ they still ain’t nothing to fuck with, the Wu-Tang Clan will celebrate their 15th anniversary with the release of 8 Diagrams on December 4th. The album, interestingly enough, will have a cover of the Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” featuring George Harrison’s son Dhani and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ John Frusciante.

The album, their first since 2001’s Iron Flag, will also be released though Loud Records.

Thrice Preview “Alchemy Index”

 

Set to release The Alchemy Index: Volumes 1 & 2 on Tuesday, Thrice has posted an album sampler on their myspace page. The album along with Volumes 3 & 4 will be released by their new label home Vagrant Records.
