Blacklisted, Ceremony | First Unitarian Church, Philly | 6/5/08

It is a rare occasion when you go to a show and enjoy each and every band on the bill. It is even more rare when almost everyone in attendance stays inside for every band, especially during one of the hottest weeks Philadelphia has seen so far this summer. Last week, however, I had the pleasure of witnessing one of those rare experiences at the First Unitarian Church. Simply put, Blacklisted, Ceremony, Life Long Tragedy, and Sabertooth Zombie all straight up killed it that day.

Album Review: Blacklisted - “Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God” (Deathwish, Inc.)

Two weeks ago was one of those bad, bad weeks where it rained when I was on my bike and it seemed that everyone I knew was too busy for me. A good friend called and invited me to come see Blacklisted with her in NYC and I quickly agreed knowing that a good hardcore show would let me forget the bullshit if only for a few minutes. There is a lot of buzz regarding the band’s new album Heavier than Heaven, Lonelier than God (Deathwish), which is by far their most provocative and intensely emotional release to date.

Blacklisted Get Heavy And Lonely

Philly hardcore crushers Blacklisted are back at it again. Despite a brief break-up scare, the group have been churning out tunes on a consistent basis since deciding to stick together. The band’s latest effort, Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God, is hitting the streets soon on April 1st and Deathwish has a bunch of snazzy pre-order packages setup for your ordering pleasure, including t-shirts and longsleeves, up here. Deathwish also has two new tracks, “Matrimony” and “I Am Weighing Me Down,” up on their site that you can check out and start getting your mosh on.

Blacklisted are also heading out on tour soon, so get ready for them to destroy a town near you in the coming months. Dates after the jump.
