Daft Punk Give Rare Interview (Not To Us)

For being one of the biggest electronic acts in the worlds, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo are pretty elusive guys. They don’t do a whole lot of interviews, and are famous for at least attempting to keep wraps on their true identity. Luckily for us, they are in the midst of a media blitz supporting their movie Electroma and live album Alive 2007 (Virgin). Scion and VICE, of all people, have teamed up to bring an in depth audio interview with the duo, discussing everything from how they began to the concepts behind Electroma. Listen here.

Talk With Daft Punk

Everyone’s favorite robots are celebrating the release of their new CD/DVD Alive next week, with a special opportunity for you hardcore fans. Head over to this website, enter in your information, and you’ll be able to attend a special chat room session, where you can talk to the men behind the masks. The chat will be held at 12:30pm EST today (November 27th), so get over there and register. You may never get the chance again to ask Thomas Bangalter or Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo what their “a/s/l” is and whether they will maybe play your house on their next tour.

Daft Punk Live Release Delayed

Miss out on one of the life changing, beat thumping Daft Punk shows this summer? Lucky for you, the French robots (humans?) have got you covered.  Originally planned for release this month, Daft Punk’s live album/dvd combo package Alive has been pushed back to December 4th. According to Capital Records, the reason for the delay is “due to production issues beyond our control.” The album will still be available digitally on November 20th, but won’t include the DVD, which features Daft Punk’s legendary live set at Keyspan Park Brooklyn this summer. The show was filmed by 250 volunteers with cameras places all throughout the venue. Check out the DaftAlive.com, which features videos from the DVD that can tide you over until its release.

Download Daft Punk’s NYC Show

You’ve probably heard the talk about how Daft Punk are robot gods among mere human mortals, and after their show at Keyspan Park in Coney Island, I think the sold-out crowd would be inclined to agree. In case you missed the absolutely jaw dropping event, which consisted of two dudes dressed as robots rocking out in a pyramid that was synched up with a crazy light show that rivals Aurora Borealis, the folks at ObsceneNYC.com are here to help you out. They have posted an exclusive recording of the NYC show that sounds pretty darn good. Granted, you can hear the crowd going absolutely apeshit, but that’s part of the fun. Download it now and prepare to rock out like you’re a robot with a recently charged battery.
