Killing The Dream Still Pretty Pissed Off

killing the dream

Had a rough week? Don’t take it out on your friends, family, or coworkers. Instead, head over to Killing The Dream’s MySpace and click on the track “Thirty Four Seconds.” Crank the volume up on your speaker, sit back and enjoy. The group’s brand new track off their upcoming Fractures is just so damn angry that it will make whatever is wrong in your life seem pretty trivial. No release date for the followup to the fantastic In Place Apart, but we can only hope these Californians can seek some anger management by the time it comes out later this year.

Deathwish, Inc. Announces Free Live Series

Ever since the Catholic Church announced their updated list of deadly sins (seriously, read them here), the fine folks at Deathwish, Inc. realized that they can’t keep contributing to the widening gap between the rich and the poor. So what do they do? They decide to give away a ton of stuff for free, just to even the playing field! Take that, Pope!

The “Deathwish, Inc. Free Live Series” includes performances that “are from a variety of sources: Radio shows, official live recordings, bootlegs, and more” and are available for the low cost of ….nothing. The first part of the series include the infamous Blacklisted performance recorded at Emerson University’s WERS and the second part features a live Converge performance recorded in Minneapolis. The Art of J. Bannon Featured In Gallery Show

No, we haven’t become an art blog or anything like that, but when it comes to the news about the always incredible artwork by Jake Bannon, we can’t pass up reporting on it. Bannon’s work has been featured on numerous Converge releases and on albums put out by his label, Deathwish, Inc., but will now be featured in an upcoming gallery show this weekend. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, head over to the Tradition shop, a streetwear boutique owned by the guitar player from Strife, to see an artshow featuring not just Bannon’s work, but also that of Derek Albeck, Marco Zamora, Christoper Cuseo (Knife Fight), Axis, and many more.

Check out a preview of some of the pieces after the jump!

News Blurbs: Jake Bannon, Ghostland Observatory, Lair Of The Minotaur

Jake Bannon has basically reached prolific status at this point. Whether wearing down his vocal chords with Converge or taking things easy with his newest side project under the name J. Bannon, which sounds like his past project Supermachiner, but more ambient, the man has been innovating within the scene for well over a decade at this point. Listen to an excerpt of the song “The Blood” from the upcoming The Blood of Thine Enemies and prepare to feel like you’re in the creepiest horror movie ever.

Lair of the Minotaur have come out with a track from their soon to be released album, War Metal Battle Master, out on Southern Lord on March 25th. Get your face rocked off by the track “Hordes of Undead Vengeance” right here.

Weirdo electronic rockers Ghostland Observatory have put up a new song from their upcoming album Robotique Majestique, out February 26th. Check out “Heavy Heart” right below.
