I am running late for the blogosphere doing a SXSW post now, but I figured better late then never. This may come as a big suprise, but my favorite show of the festival was Hot Water Music who as always put on a damn fine show. My friend Jason has posted a review of Man Man uber-fan Darren Mabee’s performance with his band We Are The Seahorses , which went down this past Saturday at Cake Shop NYC. The pictures alone describe the scene better than I ever could. Check it out here.
Philadelphia’s gift to humanity Man Man have signed to Epitaph imprint Anti-Records. They join a diverse roster that includes Nick Cave, Neko Case, and Tom Waits. Their Anti- debut is due out in the Spring of ‘08 and will be the follow up to the fantastic Six Demon Bag, which was released on Ace Fu.
As we all know Man Man are on tour with Modest Mouse right now. Check the dates after the jump. Personally, I’m waiting for the Man Man/Sonic Youth tour that will destroy any tour ever.
Despite the loss of the late Trevor Bulter, Philly’s Coyote will release their haunting organ-driven and brain-picking Outsides on November 20th via Hot Dog City Records. The band features members of Man Man, Vaz, and Bottom of the Hudson. Check out the video for “White Fox” below.
