The Measure [SA] have just announced two more releases in their quickly growing discography. One release will be part of The Art of The Underground single series, the other a split with The Ergs! on No Idea. We are stoked!

By the beard of Zeus, I freaking love Bridge and Tunnel! So much so that I ventured out into the cold, face-freezing weather to Greenpoint’s Lost and Found Bar to catch them. What amazes me about the band is that even though they have only been around for a short period of time, they already pack more intensity in a three minute song than most current bands do with an entire full-length. And hey, any band that can nail a cover of Rumbleseat’s “Cursing Concrete” deserves a ten in my book.
Do yourself a favor and pick up their self-titled debut 7-inch from No Idea Records. The band, which is made up of former members of Slingshot Dakota and Latterman, are currently hashing out their debut full-length. They are aiming to have the record out early on in 2008, so be on the lookout for that. And of course, we have a Bridge and Tunnel song in our Late Nix Mix player on the right, so check it out.
Scrambling for the last minute gifts for your punk rock friend? Don’t know what coveted piece of wax to give to yourself as a special treat? Do just happen to like awesome music? Well then, you are certainly in luck. The fine folks at No Idea Records are currently holding their annual holiday sale until December 16th. What’s the catch? Pretty much every album (CDs and LPs) is on sale for $5 for the next week. Too good to be true? Well it isn’t, so head over to the No Idea site and start shopping. Looking for a recommendation from LNWF as to what you should pick up? How about everything this label has ever put out.
According to the good folks over at Punknews.org, No Idea Records will be re-issuing Hot Water Music’s great record Forever And Counting on vinyl this year. No Idea recently re-issued (once again on vinyl) No Division by the late great HWM, so all you vinyl junkies can get your fix finally.
This was one of the first Hot Water Music albums I got and it’s still a good one. The bass lines, the lyrics, the guitars, all of it just works. How can it not? How can any Hot Water Music album not work? Well, granted there’s the marked difference between this and say, The New What Next, but since there’s a few years between the two, you gottan give them a bit of a break. No information yet on an exact date of release from No Idea, but will definitely be sometime this year.
My big question though? Where’s that Hot Water Music greatest hits compilation promised by No Idea, Till The Wheels Fall Off? Hmm, No Idea?
