“Coachella East” Confirmed For Jersey City, Same Weekend As Vineland Music Fest?
Not to be confused with the Vineland Music Festival, Billboard has confirmed that Coachella producers AEG Live/Goldenvoice are bringing yet another major concert event to New Jersey. The group is saying that the event will not carry the Coachella brand. This should get interesting though because the two Jersey-based concerts are scheduled for the same weekend, August 8-10th. The New York Times is reporting that Radiohead and Jack Johnson are rumored for the “Coachella east” event. Radiohead is not stranger to Liberty State Park; they played there in August 2001.
Updates to follow. I hope the lineup is excellent because the prospects of walking home from an event like this instead of spending boat loads of cash to fly across country is, needless to say, awesome.
