Huckabee/Colbert In ‘08?
Already receiving a significant bump for Stephen Colbert’s Colbert Report, Mike Huckabee has done the next logical step…ask the man to join his Presidental campaign. “Stephen, please, be my running mate,” Huckabee asked Colbert during a split-screen interview during the show on January 9th. “Yes, a thousand times yes,” was the obvious answer.
“The only reason I’m the front-runner now is because of the Colbert bump,” Huckabee added. “If it were not for that I would not be sitting in this chair, I would be probably somewhere serving hamburgers at a drive-in restaurant.”
This isn’t Colbert’s first thought with becoming involved in politics. He abandoned his presidental bid this year after the South Carolina Democratic Party voted him off their primary ballot. Check out the video below.
