I am running late for the blogosphere doing a SXSW post now, but I figured better late then never. This may come as a big suprise, but my favorite show of the festival was Hot Water Music who as always put on a damn fine show. Hysterics | Bowery Poetry Club, NYC | 03/08/08

hysterics

Brooklyn’s psychedelic-pop-soul-rock quartet Hysterics brought their frenetic energy to Bowery Poetry Club on Saturday night.

Fucked Up and Keith Morris Perform "Nervous Breakdown" At SXSW

LNWF favorite Fucked Up has posted a video from one of their seven performance at this year’s SXSW. The band’s show at Red Seven on Saturday was a tad bit more special, however, because Keith Morris performed the classic (and best?) Black Flag song “Nervous Breakdown” with them. The audio quality is pretty terrible but it makes you wish you were there. As expected, the crowd appears to be going ape shit. Check it out below

Possible Hot Water Music Reunion at SXSW?

Along with the usual list of blog-favorites and heavyweights playing SWSW this year, something struck my eye while eying over the lineup. On Friday, March 16th, the No Idea/Volcom showcase will go down, featuring many excellent bands (Billy Reese Peters, Grabass Charlestons, J Church, etc.) and a “special guest” (I’m thinking Radon?). Perhaps the most interesting thing about the show, however, is that Chuck Ragan and The Draft will be playing together for the first time (I believe?) since the official break up of Hot Water Music. Will the two bands share the stage together at some point during the night? Regardless, it should be an awesome night.
