Brooklyn’s Friendly Fire Reuniting For One Night Only

One of my favorite (and grossly under-appreciated) local hardcore acts, Friendly Fire, will be back for one night only on February 15th in the Bronx at the First Lutheran Church (home of the DIY collective The Bronx Underground).

From 2002 to 2004, Friendly Fire brought straight-up hardcore fun, even releasing Initiative on Blackout! Records. Since then the members have gone on to various other projects, including NY-based metal bands Only Hell Remains and Everything’s Ruined, and NJ’s My Turn To Win.

The Bronx Announce Two Albums For ‘07


Punknews.org is reporting that The Bronx are working on two releases for the end of this year. As usual, both releases will be self-titled.

The band had this to say about the albums:
“We have begun working on 2 albums worth of material. We will be making 2 different records this time… (and yet both will still be self titled) Record # 1 will be mariachi music (El Bronx) Record # 2 will be dead punk (The Bronx) Both go well with hot sauce, but yet each has a different bouquet. We are aiming for an end of summer release date. Nasty!”
