The old school with the new school covering ….the really old school? Titus Andronicus joined Yo La Tengo on stage yesterday to cover “Where Eagles Dare.” Yesterday marked the final free Sunday show at McCarren Pool. Thanks to JellyNYC for all the awesome shows over the last few years!

Even though it sucks that this will be the last summer of shows at McCarren Pool, the park and Jelly NYC are going out with a bang. Yo La Tengo and Titus Andronicus will headline the last free Sunday show on August 24th. While you are it, sign Jelly NYC’s petition to keep free shows going in NYC next summer.

This Saturday, the After The Jump Fest kicks off in Brooklyn. Health, Titus Andronicus, Mixel Pixel and Pattern Is Movement will be headling the night show at The Music Hall Of Williamsburg. The shows is a benefit to raise awareness about the importance of music education for children in NYC. There will also be a ton of bands playing during the day at TMHOW, along with a stage next door at Galapagos. Get all the info here.
