Would Patton Oswalt Join The Freaks Or Geeks?

Comedy Central Insider is reporting that most of the cast from the beloved-but-shortlived Fox dramedy Freaks And Geeks will reunite this upcoming weekend for the San Francisco Sketchfest . How could this get any better you ask? Well, they aren’t doing a national tour but all you lucky Californians will get to see Patton Oswalt host it. Which leads to this question; would Patton be a part of the freak or geek crew? I’m going with the geeks. I mean, we are talking about the man who flipped out on a college professor because of an incorrect Star Trek reference on a test.

Soft Focus With Host Ian Svenonius

Yesterday, while spending a rather unhealthy amount of time in front of my computer, I came across a link to a clip of a Henry Rollins interview. Like many people that write for LNW, I always say yes to clips that feature Henry Rollins because most of what he says is either intelligent or hilarious, sometimes both if he’s screaming. Anyway, the interview was great but as an added bonus, the host was Ian Svenonius, former singer of the DC garage bands Nation of Ulysses and The Make Up.

Fortunately, this type of program wasn’t a one time deal but an internet TV Show on VBS.tv. The show is called Soft Focus and it’s filmed in front of a live audience at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Svenonius declares the show to be an “Olympics of chat” featuring sarcastic, aimless dialogue with guests that are known for being very thoughtful. Past interviewees besides Henry Rollins have included Cat Power, Bonnie Prince Billy, Ian Mackaye, and most recently Andrew WK.
