Warped Tour 2007 | Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, NY | 08/04/07

Whenever I even mention the thought of attending Warped Tour to most people in my age bracket, the following statement usually follows; “I’m too old for that shit.” It’s true; Warped Tour, will make you feel incredibly old. If you have gone in past years, you will most likely utter “the (place year here)lineup was so much better” and/or “these kids have no taste.” While I, for the most part, agree with the latter when it comes to about 90% of the tour’s roster, there are always a few bands that make it well worth it. This year, along with tour-veterans Bad Religion, Alkaline Trio and Bayside, UK-uber-hyped-hardcore-youngsters Gallows were among the highlights.

WARPED TOUR 2006

Love it or hate it, Warped Tour still packs the kiddies in every single summer. This year was the first one I attended in three years. Some additions, actually, one really made it worth the trip. Against Me!, who back in the day cried that they would never play such event, were one of the headliners on the main stage. It’s pretty amazing to see how much this band has developed. They have gone from this tiny small band playing basements around the country to this full-blown sensation. Many a old fan have rejected the band’s and labeled the allmighty “S” word but still, scorn for this band is simply futile. They deserve all the credit the receive because, frankly, they just might be the best punk band on the planet. I’m sure they would rather not even be called a punk band anymore though seeing how a handful of fuckheads slashed their van’s tires when they signed to Fat Wreck and stole their early demo’s of Searching For A Former Clarity last year while on tour with Lucero. Tom Gabel and I talked about all these things Saturday and I will post excerpts from the interview after I’m done transcribing it. Meanwhile, enjoy some awesome pictures I got from the press pit. Thursday’s set was nothing like I have seen before. To see Geoff Rickly continue on as blood spewed out of his head was pretty inspring. I wanted to get some pictures of Joan Jett, of course, but I was too late. Thwarted.

I have a ton of more pictures…but I’ll post them later…
