The Bronx, Trash Talk, and Akimbo played the Solid PR CMJ 2008 showcase at Fontana’s the other night. I gotta say, for an industry party, things got pretty freakin’ rowdy down in that basement. It was an awesome show and you check out more pictures after the jump.

Neurosis have announced the first batch of bands they handpicked for Beyond The Pail 2009. Akimbo, The Young Gods, Guapo, and U.S. Christmas are scheduled to play at the festival, which goes down on April 25th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. BTP is a part of the Roadburn 2009 festival.
Neurosis leader Steve Von Till had this to say about the event: “The mission of Beyond the Pale is for us to honor the spirit and power of sound with people that we feel are kindred spirits. We want to bring together a diverse group of people who push the envelope, are truly original, and have that unspeakable fire and inspiration flowing through their art.”

Stoner punks Akimbo have announced that they will release their new album Jersey Shores on October 28th via Neurot. According to the press release, the album is “inspired by an infamous and bizarre legacy left from a string of shark attacks which occurred in the Garden State some 92 years ago.” Well, I’m sold. The guys have some gigs lined up as well so check them after the jump. You can also check out the new track, “Great White Bull,” below as well.
