Even though The New Lexicon doesn’t hit the streets for another month, Paint It Black brought the party to the City of Brotherly Love to celebrate their third full-length and, of course, Philly’s independent culture. The guys made sure to keep the weekend action-packed with plenty of great bands and Saturday’s matinee was no exception.

Dustheads Add Three Area Shows

Posted on 26 December 2007 by Matthew

Some people have been asking whether or not Brooklyn-based hardcore punkers Dustheads have, well, bitten the dust. The band has answered that with authority, adding three kick ass shows.

First things first, the band will be playing with Blank State and Coke Bust in Brooklyn on January 3rd. Also, as we previously reported, the band will be playing the first night of the Paint It Black record release shows in Philly. Has anyone else noticed how The Marked Men were just added to this? This show is a MUST!

Lastly, they will also be playing the Don Giovanni label showcase on February 2nd at Maxwell’s in Hoboken. The show’s lineup is pretty freaking jampacked with awesomeness; including The Measure [SA], The Ergs, For Science and The Steinways, among others.

Check after the jump for all the details and see you there!

So to compensate, I am going to make a series of posts of abridged reviews of albums that have been dominating my iPod the last few months. So to start this off, let’s touch upon the first full-length from Brooklyn’s own Dustheads and Bad Religion.

DustheadsCollected Sounds (Don Giovanni)
It seems like everyone emersed in the NYC scene are talking about these guys. Along with Deathcycle, they seem to playing every other bill. Somehow, go figure, I’ve missed every one of them. Hearing their first full-length makes me kick myself even more. Among with some of our favorite bands like Cloak/Dagger, Fucked Up and Government Warning, Dustheads take all the best parts of early 80s hardcore with a new energy and vigor. It’s about the attitude and these guys have plenty in stock.
