RIP: Steve Foley

Former Replacements drummer Steve Foley died last weekend in Minneapolis. Foley, who was 49, overdosed on prescription medicine. Foley played drums for the ‘Mats during their last tour.

Jerry Finn Taken Off Life Support

Seminal record producer Jerry Finn has been taken off life support. Finn suffered a brain hemorrhage in July. Finn produced and mixed some of the biggest and most crucial albums of the 90s. He worked with bands like Rancid, Green Day, Morrissey, Alkaline Trio, The Vandals and Jawbreaker.

RIP: Issac Hayes

The very funny Bernie Mac passed away today due to complications from Pneumonia. Our condolences go out to his family.

Useless Wooden Toys’ Lead Singer Killed After Altercation

Christopher Johnson, lead singer of Minnesota-based hardcore band Useless Wooden Toys, was killed over the weekend after an altercation. He was 32 years old.

According to the Johnson’s memorial site, “Police say 32-year-old Christopher Johnson was stabbed after an altercation in Bloomington Saturday night with a man from Warsaw. Witnesses told police the fight started after Brian White of Warsaw grabbed a woman and Johnson tried to intervene. [...] Officers later found White hiding in a cellar. He faces a preliminary charge of murder.”
