You can officially call me Old Man Pullman. I hate going out to shows that start late and/or that are in Williamsburg. Even though I stay up till like 5 A.M., I want to be home in my pajamas watching Food Network. So, needless to say, my concert intake this year hasn’t really been up to par. I can’t, however, miss Future of the Left when they are in town. The band’s last full-length Travels With Myself and Others is in contention for album of the year and inspired a Raiders Of The Lost Ark-esque rant from yours truly.
The band was stellar on Friday night at Music Hall of Williamsburg. I could have used a few more songs off Travels, namely “Drink Nike,” but they sounded fucking loud and powerful. And of course, lots of witty banter in between songs. These guys can’t seem to go a show without mentioning Michael Jackson though.
Our friends in Freshkills opened the show and, as always, they were great. They get better live every time I see them. I really, really love their self-titled record. Definitely check them out.
Oh and apparently, mid-aged wiener rockers love to pogo to FOTL. They need their fix since Dimebag Daryl went on to RNR Heaven. RIP Dimebag.
More pictures after the jump.
