Nick Cave sat down with Pitchfork.TV during his last trip to NYC to talk about the process of creating his latest release Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (Anti). He also talks about the differences between the Bad Seeds and Grinderman, and how they influence each other. Check out part one of the interview below (part two will be available tomorrow).
Spinner.com is reporting that Nick Cave has plans to give back to his hometown of Victoria, by giving them a semi-nude statue of himself in which he is riding a horse. It doesn’t detail which part of Nick would be nude, but if he is riding a horse we hope for his sake that he is wearing pants. In most cases this would be completely bizarre but this is Nick Cave, so we will accept it as normal. Apparently Nick is looking for donations toward the project which could cost at least $50k.
Nick Cave has released two more videos from his stellar new full-length Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (Anti-/Mute). You get one for “Night Of The Lotus Eaters” and the other for my personal favorite from the record “More News From Nowhere.” Check them both out after the jump.
Anti-, who arguably boasts the best current roster of any label, recently launched AntiLabelBlog.com, along with a spring 2008 sampler. The sampler includes new tracks from Man Man, Tim Fite, Nick Cave, Islands, Billy Bragg, The Weakerthans, DeVotchka, Lyrics Born and more.
