O’Death Sign To Ernest Jennings

Brooklyn based O’Death has finally found an official home for their bluegrass-gone-punk madness with Ernest Jennings Record Co. CMJ is reporting that the band will first re-release a remastered version of Head Home, before working on a new album.

The band just played SXSW and has a few shows lined up in the next few weeks. Check them out here.

O’Death | Mercury Lounge | 2/24/07

According to the Deli, O’Death is the 7th hottest band in the crop of up-and-coming NYC bands. The thing that separates the band from the rest in the field is that their sound is so anti-New York. This isn’t the type of music you would expect to be popular in the hipster circles of Gotham. Rather, I’d expect dirt-covered mountain folk enjoying it, while downing moonshine in a shitty, Southern dive bar…in 1930.
