Snapcase performed two reunion shows this past weekend to benefit J. Robbins son Callum. The shows also served as book release shows for Norman Brannon’s (Texas Is The Reason) new Anti-Matter Anthology out now from Revelation Books. There was also some exclusive vinyl made to benefit Callum from 108 (only 108 copies made!) just for the shows. As promised the shows boasted some special guests ands surprises.
On Saturday night, Triple Threat peformed five songs by Mouthpiece and Lou from Sick Of It All joined Snapcase during “Energy Dome.” On Sunday night, Geoff Rickly of Thursday joined 108 on stage and Supertouch reunited for a 2o minute set.
After the first song Saturday night, Daryl from Snapcase admitted that they were reluctant to play these shows at first, but he was happy they were, and it showed. The band had some amazing energy and put on one of the best sets I have ever seen them play. It seems like it had been much longer than two years since they had broke up.
Another highlight from the show was that a pre-ordered ticket came with a copy of previously mentioned “Anti-Matter Anthology.” Being that the zine was at the height of its popularity when I was around 11, this was my first exposure to it. I have only begin to dive into, but from what I have read so far, the interview are fantastic. Expect an in-depth review in the coming weeks.
